Prompt kit

AI prompt starter kit for marketers

A starting set of prompts for everyday B2B marketing work. Replace the parts in [brackets] with your own details, and always review and fact-check the output before you use it.

Ground rules

  • Give the tool your own source material, such as research, notes and briefs.
  • Ask for options and choose, rather than accepting the first answer.
  • Verify every fact, name, number and quotation against its source.
  • Do not paste confidential or customer data into tools your company has not approved.
  • Keep a human edit before anything is published.

The prompts

1. Summarise research

Summarise the report below for [audience, for example CIOs] in 200 words. List the three most important findings, the evidence behind each one and one implication for [topic]. Flag anything that is unclear or that you are not sure about.

2. Understand your audience

Based on the notes below, describe the main priorities, concerns and objections of [role] at [type of company]. Separate what the notes say from what you are assuming.

3. Outline an article

Propose three possible outlines for an article on [topic] for [audience]. For each one, give a working title, the key message and four to six section headings. Tell me which one you would choose and why.

4. Write headline options

Write 10 headline options for an article about [topic] for [audience]. Make them specific and plain, avoid hype and keep each one under 70 characters.

5. Draft an event agenda

I am planning a [format] for [audience] about [theme]. Suggest an agenda for [duration] with session titles, formats (talk, panel or roundtable) and the question each session answers. Leave time for conversation.

6. Repurpose content

Turn the article below into a 100-word newsletter summary, three LinkedIn posts with different angles and five bullet points Sales can use in conversations. Keep every fact exactly as it appears in the article.

7. Edit a draft

Edit the draft below for clarity and tone. Keep my meaning and my voice, shorten long sentences, remove jargon and mark any claim that needs a source.

8. List the claims to check

List every factual claim, number, name and date in the text below so I can verify them against their sources. Do not add any new information.

9. Write email subject lines

Write eight subject lines for an email inviting [audience] to [event or content]. Keep them under 50 characters, specific and free of exaggeration.

Save the prompts that work for your team, with a note about when to use each one, so the quality stays consistent.
